What this does
The Reports screen groups reports under Payroll, Employees, Agencies and Accounting. Every report covers approved, paid and filed pay runs. A reversed run and its reversal both appear, so they net to zero. Drafts and calculated runs never count.
Payroll
- Payroll register. Every pay in the range, employee by employee: earnings, withholdings, net pay and employer costs.
- Deductions and benefits. Each deduction and benefit by employee, with the employee and employer shares.
- Employer costs. What payroll cost the company on top of wages: CPP/QPP, EI, QPIP, health tax, WCB and benefits.
Employees
- Year to date by employee. Each employee's year to date as at a date, checked against the year-to-date ledger. A column says Matches, Differs or Later pays.
- Vacation liability. Vacation pay earned but not yet paid, as at a date.
- Payroll summary, Vacation summary and Transaction detail for one employee. These are the quick reports on the employee's Transactions tab. See The Transactions tab and quick reports.
Agencies
- Remittance history. Remittances to CRA, Revenu Québec, health tax and WCB: due dates, payments and late ones.
- Liability history. Every remittance payment and adjustment, with method, cheque number and confirmation. See Liability history.
- WCB assessable earnings. Earnings by location with the annual maximum applied, and the premium they draw.
- Employer health tax. Payroll subject to employer health tax by province, the exemption, and the tax due.
Accounting
- General ledger journal. The ledger entries for each pay run, or one entry for the whole range. See Journal export (CSV and IIF-style).
Good to know
- Department, location and employee filters use the employee's current record, because pay lines do not store where the employee worked at the time.
- The vacation liability report works from year-to-date earnings, not from the time-off ledger. The journal posts vacation payable from the ledger.
- The WCB and health tax reports check the annual ceiling and exemption against the rate tables.
