What this does

Liability history lists every payment and adjustment against what you owe. It covers CRA, Revenu Québec, health tax, workers' compensation and third-party payees. Each line shows the method, cheque number and confirmation.

Open it

  1. Go to Remittances.
  2. Choose Liability history.

Filter

Use All agencies and payees, Payments and adjustments, From, To, and Show void transactions. The total of the lines shown is at the bottom.

Columns

Date, Agency / payee, Type, Period from, Period to, Amount, Method, Cheque no., Confirmation, Memo / reason and Status.

Record a payment

  1. Choose Record payment.
  2. Pick the agency or payee, the date, the method, the amount and, for a cheque, the number.
  3. Add a memo and save.

Add an adjustment

  1. Choose Add adjustment.
  2. Pick the agency or payee.
  3. Enter the amount. A minus sign takes away.
  4. Give a reason and save.

Use an adjustment when what you owe differs from what the runs produced. Examples are an agency assessment, interest and a correction of an earlier period.

Void an entry

  1. Find the entry and choose Void.
  2. Give a reason.

A voided payment reopens the remittance it settled.

Export

Choose CSV or PDF to save the filtered list.

Good to know

  • Marking a remittance paid records a payment here. Reopening it voids that payment.
  • Under a trial licence, the CSV and PDF carry the not-for-filing mark.
  • The Reports screen also has a Liability history report. See Reports: the list.
