What this does

Some provinces charge employers a health tax on payroll, and every province has a workers' compensation board. SeroPayroll works out each amount from your pay runs and lists it as a remittance.

Set up

  1. Go to Settings › Locations.
  2. For each location, choose the Province.
  3. Enter the WCB account, WCB classification and WCB rate per $100.
  4. Tick Registered for employer health tax and enter the EHT account, where it applies.

The levies are priced when you calculate a pay run. The review shows Employer health tax, Health services fund and Workers' compensation under Employer costs.

Pay the remittance

  1. Go to Remittances and filter to Health tax or Workers' compensation.
  2. Open the row. It shows the payroll (gross pay and taxable benefits) and the health tax or premium for the period.
  3. Pay the agency.
  4. Choose Mark paid.
