What this does
Bulk edit changes one thing on many employees in a single step. It shows a preview before it writes anything.
Steps
- Go to Employees.
- Choose Select. On a phone, press and hold a row instead.
- Tick the employees. Select all shown ticks everyone in the current filtered list.
- Choose Bulk edit.
- Pick an action:
- Change pay group
- Change department
- Change location
- Set standard hours per week
- Change vacation pay policy
- Assign time-off policy
- Terminate with a date…
- Delete employees never paid
- Choose the new value.
- Choose Preview. Each row shows before and after. Rows that will be skipped show the reason.
- Choose Apply to {count}. The message says how many were updated and how many skipped.
Why a row is skipped
- It already has this value.
- It has pay history. Terminate instead of deleting.
- It is already terminated.
- It is already on this policy.
- The record was refused. Check it.
Export the selection
Choose Export CSV to save the selected employees to a file.
Good to know
- Every employee gets their own audit entry, "Bulk edit: {action}".
- Termination with a date applies the same date and reason to each employee. Final pays and ROEs follow one by one.
- To empty a pay group, department or location before deleting it, move the employees here.
- Pay items and payees have the same multi-select for switching off and deleting.
