What this does
The Time off tab shows each balance an employee has. You put the employee on a policy here, and you can adjust or pay out a balance.
Put an employee on a policy
- Open the employee and choose the Time off tab.
- If it says "{name} is not on a time-off policy yet", choose Put on a policy. If no policy exists, choose Time off policies to make one.
- Pick the Policy.
- Enter Starts. Pay periods ending on or after this day accrue.
- Enter the Opening balance, what the employee already has. For vacation pay it is suggested from this year's pays.
- Save.
Read a balance
Each policy shows Balance, Accrued this year, Taken this year, Requested, Available, the years of service and "Next reset {date}". Choose History to see every movement.
Adjust a balance
- Choose Adjust.
- Enter the Change. Positive adds to the balance. Negative takes away.
- Enter the Date and a Reason.
- Save.
Pay out a balance
- Choose Pay out.
- Enter How much.
- Save. It comes off the balance now and is paid on the next pay run. The line says "waiting for the next pay" until then.
Take an employee off a policy
Choose Take off this policy. The history stays.
Good to know
- An employee can be on several policies, such as vacation and sick time.
- Requests for time off are recorded here or on the Time Off screen. See Time off requests and approval.
