What this does
SeroPayroll writes an audit entry whenever important data changes. The entry says what changed, who did it and when. The audit log is stored inside the company file.
Read an employee's history
- Go to Employees and open an employee.
- Open the History tab.
- Read the list. Each line reads like "Changed by {name}", with the date.
You see entries such as Created, Changed, Removed, Terminated, Rehired, Set inactive, Reactivated, Imported and Viewed {what}.
What is recorded
- Changes to employees, bank accounts, tax claims and documents.
- Every time someone views a full SIN or bank account number, with who approved it and who asked.
- Pay run steps: approve, pay, reverse.
- Deletes and restores, bulk edits, YTD adjustments and their reasons.
- Company deletions, backups, and emails of stubs (without the PDF password).
- With the Cloud add-on, changes that arrive from another computer, named with that computer.
Good to know
- The audit log has no company-wide screen. Reasons you enter, such as a tax exemption or a YTD adjustment, are kept in it.
- The log cannot be edited in the app.
- With users and roles on, the name in each entry is the signed-in user. See Users and roles.
- The audit log travels with the company file.
