Drafts and "Resume where you left off"

The app saves half-finished forms and offers to bring them back.

On this page

What this does

Data-entry screens save your half-finished work by themselves every 10 seconds, and when you leave the form or screen. If you come back to the same screen, the app offers to bring the work back.

Resume a draft

  1. Open the same screen or record again.
  2. A box says "Resume where you left off?" and tells you who left changes and when.
  3. Choose Resume where you left off to get your entries back, or Discard to start again from what is saved.

Where drafts are saved

  • The add-employee wizard and the employee tabs.
  • The pay run grid. Only cells you typed and have not yet confirmed. Cells save already when you leave them.
  • Time-off requests and court orders.
  • The termination and ROE form, and the rehire and bank account dialogs.
  • Settings › Company, and the T4A submission editor.
  • The new-company wizard.

Good to know

  • A successful save removes the draft.
  • Bank account numbers are never written to a draft.
  • The new-company wizard keeps its draft on this computer, because no company file exists yet. It never holds the password.
  • With the Cloud add-on, the next computer offers the same draft.
  • When the app signs out for inactivity, forms not saved are dropped. A draft from the last 10 seconds may help.
