What this does
SeroPayroll remembers the latest date it has seen. If the computer's clock goes back by more than a day, the licence shows Needs check (clock moved back). The banner says: "This device's clock moved backwards. Check the date and time, then paste your key again to confirm the licence."
Steps
- Check the computer's date, time and time zone. Turn on automatic date and time in the system settings.
- Close SeroPayroll and open it again.
- Go to Settings › Licence.
- Paste your key again and choose Activate. Or choose Activate from file (.serokey). If you lost the key, choose Lost your key? Resend.
- Connect to the internet and choose Check in now.
Why it happens
- A dead clock battery, a wrong time zone, or a virtual machine that was restored from an old state.
- Someone set the date back by hand.
Good to know
- Read-only mode still lets you open, view, print, export and back up.
- Do not move the clock back to run a payroll for an earlier date. Enter the dates in the pay run instead.
