What this does
A licence allows a set number of computers. When all of them are used, the next computer is refused: "This key is already in use on {count} computers", followed by their names.
Steps
- On a computer you still have, sign in and go to Settings › Account.
- Under Computers, find the one you no longer use.
- Choose Deactivate. The message says "Computer deactivated. Its seat is free."
- On the new computer, go to Settings › Licence and choose Check in now.
If you no longer have access to the old computer, deactivate it from another one in the same way.
If you cannot reach the account
Write to support@seropayroll.app and name the computer to free. We can free the seat for you.
If the app is already read-only
The banner says "This key is in use on all the computers it allows." Free a seat, then check in. Read-only still lets you open, view, print, export and back up.
Good to know
- A trial key belongs to the one computer where it started.
- The browser edition counts as a computer for each browser profile.
- Pasting a different key on a computer frees the old key's seat.
- A seat freed while a computer was offline is noticed at its next check-in.
