What this does

An off-cycle run is an extra pay outside the schedule, for the people you pick. You set the period and the pay date yourself.

Steps

  1. Go to Pay Runs and choose New pay run.
  2. Under "What are you paying?" choose Off-cycle pay.
  3. Pick the Pay group.
  4. Set the Period start, Period end and Pay date. Tax uses the year of the pay date.
  5. Tick the people this pay is for.
  6. Choose Create run.
  7. Enter hours and amounts, then calculate, review, approve and pay as with any run.

Good to know

  • Use off-cycle pay for a missed pay, an advance run or a pay you must issue before the next regular pay.
  • The period must not end before it starts.
  • For a bonus alone, use the Bonus kind. See Bonus runs.
  • The run counts in year-to-date totals and in remittances like any other approved run.
  • Year-to-date maximums for CPP and EI carry through, so an off-cycle pay does not take contributions twice.
