What this does
The Pay step records the payments. The Stubs step gives each employee a statement of earnings. The app does not send money. You send the file to your bank, or print cheques.
Pay
- After approval, open the Pay step.
- Once the net pay is on its way, choose Mark paid.
- Confirm "Mark this run paid?". The app records a payment for every employee by their method, with deposits split across their accounts. A backup is taken first.
- Make what you need:
- Deposit file. A CPA 005 file for your bank. See Direct deposit files (CPA-005).
- Cheques. For employees paid by cheque. See Cheques.
- E-transfer list. See E-transfer list.
An employee with no bank account is paid by cheque, and the review warned you.
Stubs
- Choose Next: stubs.
- The page says "{ready} of {total} stubs ready".
- Choose View, Print, Print all, Save all to a folder or Download all (one PDF).
- To email, choose Email stubs. See Email stubs and the PDF password.
Good to know
- Stubs are made once the run is approved.
- A stub whose figures do not add up to net pay is not printed. Calculate a correction for that employee.
- A stub shows earnings, taxes, other deductions, taxable benefits, net pay, how it was paid, employer contributions if the template shows them, year-to-date and the vacation balance.
- The stub is not a T4 or RL-1. It says so.
- A read-only licence can still pay out runs approved before the licence stopped.
