What this does

Reversing takes every pay in a run back out of the year to date. A reversal run records it. It also voids payments that were not yet sent.

Steps

  1. Open the approved or paid run.
  2. Choose More actions, then Reverse.
  3. Read "Reverse this run?". The box says that reversing cannot be undone.
  4. Enter the Reason. It is required and goes in the history.
  5. Confirm. The message says "Run reversed".

The reversal run is created already approved, with every line negated. The original shows "Reversed: {reason}".

Good to know

  • A backup of the company file is taken first.
  • Use a correction when the run was mostly right. Use a reversal when the run should not have happened.
  • Payments already sent to the bank are not recalled by the app. Handle those with your bank.
  • A reversed run and its reversal both drop out of the remittances. If the period was already paid, an adjustment row appears. See Remittance adjustments after a correction.
  • Time-off accrual and time taken that the run posted are taken back out.
  • You cannot delete an approved run. Reverse it.
