What this does

A payee is who a court order sends money to. You add payees first, then name one on each court order.

Steps

  1. Go to Settings › Payees.
  2. Choose New payee.
  3. Enter the Name as it should appear on the cheque or payment.
  4. Enter your Account or file number with the payee. It is quoted with each payment.
  5. Pick Paid by: Cheque, Electronic transfer, Online banking or Other.
  6. Pick Remit: Each pay or Monthly.
  7. Add the city, province, postal code, email, phone and notes.
  8. Leave Active on.
  9. Save.

Good to know

  • A payee with court orders or remittances cannot be deleted. Switch it off. A switched-off payee is kept for history and not offered for new orders.
  • Payees can be switched off or deleted in groups.
  • Paying payees is under Remittances. See Payee remittances (court orders).
  • Court orders name a payee on the employee's Pay tab. See Court orders and garnishments on an employee.
  • If no payee exists, the court order form says "No payees yet: add the court, office or agency first."
