What this does
SeroPayroll is built to be used from the keyboard on a computer, and by touch on a tablet or phone.
The menu
On a computer the left menu lists: Dashboard, Employees, Pay Runs, Payments, Remittances, Time Off, Reports, Year-End and Settings. The company switcher is at the top. The signed-in name and Sign out are at the foot.
- Choose the arrow at the top of the menu, or press Ctrl+B, to collapse it to icons. The choice is remembered on this device.
- A tablet shows the icons only.
- A phone shows a bottom bar with Home, Pay Runs, Employees and More.
Search
Press Ctrl+K from anywhere, or choose the search button. Type to go to a screen, an employee or a pay run. In a company the box says "Search screens, employees and pay runs…".
Shortcuts
- Ctrl+K. Search.
- Ctrl+N. New pay run.
- Ctrl+E. Employees.
- Ctrl+S. Save the screen.
- Ctrl+P. Print.
- Ctrl+B. Collapse or expand the menu.
- Esc. One step back.
On a Mac, Ctrl+K, Ctrl+S, Ctrl+P and Ctrl+B also work with the Command key.
Lists
- Every list row has a menu with Edit and Delete.
- The Delete key works on a focused row.
- Select, or a long press, picks several rows for bulk actions.
Good to know
- The grid on the pay run page uses the arrow keys, Tab and Enter, and Esc undoes a cell.
- Nothing else of the app is reachable until you sign in.
