What this does
SeroPayroll is one app that runs on computers, tablets, phones and in a web browser. The screens change layout to fit the size of the window.
The platforms
- Windows. Installed from an MSIX package. This version updates itself.
- macOS. Installed as a desktop app.
- Tablets and phones. The same app with a narrower layout. On a phone, a bottom bar gives Home, Pay Runs, Employees and More. Reviewing, approving and viewing stubs work well on a phone. Typing a lot of data is easier on a larger screen.
- Browser edition. The same app in a web browser. It keeps your company files in the browser's own storage.
Screen sizes
- A window of 1200 pixels wide or more shows the full menu on the left.
- A tablet, or a narrower window, shows a menu of icons only.
- A phone shows the bottom bar.
What differs in the browser
- Company files stay in the browser's storage until you download them. See Browser edition: storage and Download company file.
- The browser edition cannot send email. Stubs are saved as PDF files instead.
- Backups to a folder are not available. Use Save a copy.
Good to know
- You need an internet connection to create an account, start a trial, buy a plan and check in the licence. Payroll work itself does not need the internet. See Work offline and the 30-day check-in.
- A company file made on one platform opens on the others.
- Use an up-to-date browser for the browser edition.
